Backlog Hero is a free Android app for tracking your video game library across all platforms. This policy explains what data the app uses and how it is handled.
Your Data Stays With You
Backlog Hero stores all your game data locally on your device. We do not have servers, accounts, or cloud storage. Your library, ratings, notes, and session logs never leave your phone.
Third-Party Services
- RAWG API — We fetch game information (titles, cover art, descriptions) from RAWG.io when you search for games. Only your search queries are sent; no personal data.
- Google AdMob — We display ads to support the app. Google may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalisation. See Google's privacy policy for details.
- Steam API — If you choose to import your Steam library, your Steam ID and API key are used to fetch your game list. These are sent directly to Steam's servers, not ours.
Permissions
- Internet — Required to search for games and display ads.
- Camera — Used only for barcode scanning (optional).
- Notifications — Used only for daily reminders (optional).
- Storage — Used to import CSV files (optional).
Analytics
We do not collect analytics, crash reports, or usage data. What happens on your device stays on your device.
Data Deletion
You can delete all your data at any time from Settings → Clear All Data. Uninstalling the app also removes all stored data.
